Living Intentionally Through the Chaos

The past couple of months, I’ve really been focusing on living intentionally—in every area of life possible.

The truth is, the past year or so has been a little tough. I started a new job at the preschool where my daughter is enrolled, and for the first several months it felt like we were constantly sick. If you’ve ever had the joy of enrolling your child in a public school or daycare, you know just how trying that adjustment period can be while their little immune system builds up strength.

Add in financial struggles, daily responsibilities, and trying to find a few moments to simply be me—to fill not just my family’s emotional cups, but my own—and it became overwhelming.

It’s so easy to focus on what isn’t going right and let it feel like a mountain sitting on your shoulders. And honestly, it did for quite some time. I’m not used to letting things weigh me down like that. I’ve always been a glass-half-full kind of girl, usually able to find the good in things (and people) and cling to that. But something shifted.

No matter how hard or how long I worked, nothing seemed to go as planned. The income slowed, the house stayed messy, sleep was restless—it just felt like pure chaos. No matter how busy I stayed, I still felt like I was failing in so many areas. And it didn’t make any sense.

That’s when I realized God was trying to get my attention.

He was drawing me closer to Him, and apparently, it was going to take a lot for me to truly listen. So, I took a step back. I paused everything that didn’t absolutely need my attention—including my side gigs—and gave myself permission to slow down and focus on what matters most.

I used that time to seek God. After all, He’s the Creator, and His plan is always greater than my own.

Yes, some of the struggles are still here—but they don’t weigh on me the same way anymore. I’ve accepted that I can only do my best, and if my best falls short, there’s a reason. God will use it for His good and His glory.

So now, I’m shifting my focus to what is going right and what I can do.

✨ I can play with my daughter.
✨ I have a home I get to care for—not one I have to.
✨ I have a messy kitchen where I get to cook meals for my family.
✨ I have quiet moments to sit on my couch, read my Bible, and talk with my Savior.

My God will restore everything that’s been lost and hold my hand every step of the way.

And I hope that whatever your struggle may be, you’ll remember to seek Christ and trust that His plan is greater. There’s always a reason—even when we can’t yet see it.
